The latest NITRO Studio release includes enhancements across NITRO Workflows, Forms, Alerts, Engage, Modern Branding, Email Manager, and other NITRO Studio components, along with several bug fixes and performance improvements.

NITRO Workflows

This release adds several improvements to workflow development, debugging, and performance:

• Added a new stripHtml function to convert HTML content to plain text.
• Added a button in the Invoke Workflow action to open the settings for the selected workflow.
• When importing a workflow, NITRO now attempts to match the Invoke Workflow action to the workflow by name, reducing the need for manual reconfiguration.
• Added a Restart option to the Workflow Debugger so debugging can be rerun with the previously selected item.
• Workflow Debugger now provides more detailed logs for expression evaluation.
• NITRO Form settings used by workflows are now cached to improve performance.
• Fixed an issue where the Add Item action could fail when creating document sets in document libraries containing more than 5,000 items.
• Fixed issues with lookup items, multi-lookup values in email templates, date comparisons in advanced conditions, and managed metadata term properties.
• On SharePoint On-premises, the Workflow Debugger now supports a debug session list at the web application level and no longer requires NITROWebAPI for debugging.
• Added environment logs to the Workflow Debugger for SharePoint On-premises.
• Fixed an issue with the Set Permissions action when working with Active Directory groups on SharePoint On-premises.

Custom Actions

Custom Actions now include the following improvements:

• Added the new stripHtml function.
• Generate Document now supports NITRO Forms item print templates.
• Added a button to open the selected workflow directly from the Invoke Workflow dropdown.
• Fixed an issue where the workflow field could appear empty after importing a custom action to another list.

NITRO Forms

• Added support for opening associated items in a new window directly from the edit form.
• Fixed an issue with Yes/No column values displayed in associated items when the large list setting is enabled.

NITRO Alerts

NITRO Alerts now provides more flexible access and management:

• Users with Add List Item permission can access the NITRO Alerts ribbon button.
• Users who manage NITRO settings can view all alerts configured on the site, while other users see only their own alerts.
• The Edit Alert form now includes created and modified information and the Send Alerts To field.

NITRO Engage

• Fixed an issue where commands were not displayed after a user's email domain was changed.
• Fixed an issue with the command expand/collapse image not loading.

Modern Branding

Modern Branding now includes support for communication sites and additional navigation controls:

• Added support for communication sites.
• Standard header links can now be sourced from the SharePoint quick launch.
• Added support for URLs on sub-main headers.
• Added advanced settings for nested Active Directory group membership when determining header link visibility.
• On SharePoint On-premises, users no longer receive a login prompt simply because they lack permission on the root site of the web application. Permission is now evaluated at the respective site collection.

NITRO Link Tiles

• Fixed an issue where link tile configuration could be removed when the description contained special characters.

NITRO Print

• Fixed an issue where lookup column values were not displayed in item print templates after the column was converted to another column type.
• Fixed issues related to deleted view columns.

Email Manager

• The Generate AI Email dialog now includes an AI explanation in read-only mode and a retry option.
• Staff can now provide additional instructions for the AI prompt when retrying AI-generated email content.
• Generate Email activity is now logged each time the Generate Email button is clicked, rather than when the email is sent.

NITRO Studio

• Added direct links to Site Contents and Site Settings from the NITRO Studio admin page.
• On SharePoint On-premises, NITRO Studio SPFx operations now use the REST API.
• Fixed an issue with NITRO Repair when replacing certain old URLs containing special characters.
• Fixed an issue with scrolling on the NITRO Apps page.

NITRO Database Sync

• Added support for fetching values from a SharePoint list based on multiple columns.

NITRO Setup Helper for SharePoint On-premises

The NITRO Setup Helper now includes improved Workflow Debugger management:

• Added Workflow Debugger service management for installing, updating, starting, and stopping the debugger service.
• Installed service and package build details are now available.
• Added a Debug Session Sites tab for mapping web applications to debug session site collections.
